Brother, I have good news! Lift your eyes; more people care by the day. We must just wean them off the propaganda teat. There are many reasons to be cheerful. The traditional church may have to die, so the ecclesia of Jesus can live to build the kingdom, but the Spirit is moving, and we must be prepared. Let us stay hopeful; the fields are ripe; we just need the engine room of prayer, and to simply share the good news to a world looking for something to believe in. People have lost trust/faith in the politicians, the media, the wealthy, religion, and corporations. They are ready for change; they are ready for Jesus in a relational way they may never have expected. Then with the ability Jesus gives to help us see the divine spark within ourselves, and the acceptance that we are loved and worthy of love! Then to use that love to see the divine spark in every person; no one is born without it. When God has done that within us, we can unite our sparks into a furnace of love, with smoke that signals, RISING HOPE.
We offer no religion, or legal code. No judgement or condemnation; just unconditional love and the questions Jesus left us to treasure. We need no leaders. The only callings are Elders for safeguarding, wisdom and discernment. They hold no power without the guidance of the Spirit and the acceptance of the ecclesia. Also, Deacons, willing to serve unconditionally and without power – that is my calling and I rejoice in it. Then Prayer Warriors, of which I acknowledge your gifting.
We are all flawed, and in some ways the world may laugh at our efforts. They laughed at Noah, they laughed at Jesus on the cross, let us welcome anyone laughing at us as we should laugh at our own flaws. None of us have what is needed, and that is perfect. None of us will ever be able to claim glory, we should never want to.
The dangers we need to guard our hearts against are power, possessions, pride, and passions. If we lay them down and work in the power of the Spirit, led to not want the p’s (apart from the righteous passion for God, and the possessions entrusted to us dedicated to service alone). Then we will see the kingdom come in new way. God never said revelation had stopped, and I am expectant.
I hope that makes sense, it just flowed as I wrote it.
